mexico city & puebla
summer 2005

It was off to Mexico for eight great days with mis amigos Jay & Irene.
Here are fifteen snapshots, but what I REALLY should have taken photos of are:

The less-than-normal smog cover in Mexico City / The squash blossom empanadas in Puebla / The old zither player in Bar La Opera / The small incident when security guards caught me trying to steal Diego Rivera's A Dream of a Sunday Afternoon in the Alameda Central / Our lunch at Hosteria de Santo Domingo / The cappuccino at Cafe Gaby / Our impersonation of earthquake and fire instruction graphics / las chicas !!! / Our jaws dropping at the exhibit of the incredibly cool paintings of Juan O'Gorman / Mexican Beatlemania that hasn't bitten the dust / Frida's bookcase / the architecture of Arditti + RDT (I REALLY REALLY should have brought my camera on Friday!) / at least some of the graffiti / and every single item in the National Museum of Anthropology.

Catedral, Puebla

Church of Nuestra Senora de los Remedios, Cholula

dome, Church of Nuestra Senora de los Remedios, Cholula

The Great Pyramid, Cholula
(It's buried under the church and the stairs.
Bigger by volume than Cheops, you can look it up.)

a church in Cholula, but not the
one on top of the pyramid.
